Quality education is one of the key pillars in building a brighter future for the next generation. Driven by a commitment to improve access to literacy, Matahari continues its school library renovation program throughout 2024, reaching primary schools across various regions in Indonesia.
This initiative is made possible through strategic collaborations with three social partners: Yayasan Benih Baik Indonesia (BenihBaik), Yayasan Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI), and Yayasan Gerakan Nasional Orang Tua Asuh (GNOTA). Together, Matahari has improved reading facilities in 16 schools, reaching more than 4,500 students.
Customer Donations Bring New Life to 14 School Libraries
The majority of the renovations were made possible through customer donations collected between February and April 2024 via the You Dream It, We Build It campaign, facilitated by BenihBaik.com. This collective support helped transform libraries in 14 schools across Indonesia—from Sumatra to Papua.
With a total contribution of IDR 473,893,368, the program positively impacted children in schools, attended by 3,442 students across Indonesia. Beyond improving physical infrastructure, the initiative also provided book packages to nurture students’ reading interest and literacy skills. The library renovations and book package distribution took place from September to October 2024.
Thanks to these efforts, the libraries are now more comfortable, better organized, and create a more inspiring environment for students to read and learn.

Two Additional Schools Supported by Strategic Partners
In addition to the 14 schools above, Matahari also worked with two other social partners to support library renovations in two more schools—benefiting 1,123 students.
- SDN Kalibaru 09, North Jakarta – in collaboration with Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI)
As part of the Matahari for Literacy project, the former storage space at SDN Kalibaru 09 has been transformed into a bright, clean, and welcoming library. Now, students at SDN Kalibaru 09 can enjoy a space more conducive to reading and learning. The renovation aims to reignite students’ passion for reading.
- SDN Tegal 04, Bogor – in collaboration with GNOTA
Together with GNOTA Foundation, Matahari renovated the library at SDN Tegal 04 as part of the company’s CSR literacy program. The newly improved reading space now provides the students with a more comfortable and inspiring place to learn.
Across all locations, renovations included floor and ceiling repairs, repainting, installation of new bookshelves and reading desks, as well as improvements to doors and windows—ensuring each library can serve as a true center for literacy and inspiration.
