Matahari Together with GoTo Group Builds Mutual Cooperation Oxygen House

PT Matahari Department Store Tbk (“Matahari” or “Company” or “LPPF”) has committed to providing funds of IDR 5 billion to support the construction of the Gotong Royong Oxygen House located in Pulogadung, East Jakarta. This semi-permanent centralized self-isolation facility is an initiative to overcome the challenges of the pandemic initiated by a consortium led by the GoTo Group. As a centralized isolation facility, ROGR has 500 beds divided into four (4) isolation houses.

Appreciation for Matahari's support for ROGR came from Monica Oudang, Chairwoman of Yayasan Anak Bangsa Bisa. "We really appreciate the support of private parties such as Matahari in handling COVID-19. With this collaboration, Rumah Oxygen can be realized in a short time to become a centralized self-isolation facility that can help reduce the burden on hospitals."

Terry O'Connor, CEO of Matahari said, "Matahari continues to take real action against the Covid-19 pandemic. We collaborate with various parties to support efforts to suppress the spread of the virus through a successful employee vaccination program, tightening health protocol rules in the workplace, and various programs designed to help Covid-19 patients, daily workers, students and health workers as the front line. By following health protocols and regulations, we believe that we can create the safest shopping experience and workplace."

Previously, Andre Soelistyo, CEO of GoTo Group in a press release regarding the establishment of the Rumah Oxygen Gotong Royong initiative, said, “This facility is equipped with sustainable oxygen access for patients in need - and can ease the burden on patients. No one should have difficulty getting access to oxygen and we will continue to work with the government and strategic partners to overcome the challenges of this pandemic.”
