As part of its commitment to open 12-15 stores in 2023, Matahari (the "Company"; stock code: "LPPF") has identified a total of seven new strategic locations, including the recently opened Revo Mall, Bekasi. The Company is accelerating the opening of these stores to provide an impact during the upcoming Lebaran season, with all stores set to be operational in the first week of April.
Matahari's new stores confirmed to be opened are mostly outside the province of DKI Jakarta. Matahari will open two stores in West Java (Revo Bekasi which has just started operating and Pollux Chadstone in Cikarang), and three new stores in Central Java (The Park Semarang, Uptown Mall which is also located in Semarang and Sleman Mall in Jogjakarta). The Company will also open two new stores outside Java, namely Discovery Mall in Kuta Bali and Plaza Balikpapan in East Kalimantan. One Matahari store has been opened and 6 other stores will start operating between the end of February and early April 2023, with most of the store openings taking place during Ramadan.
Terry O'Connor, Matahari CEO, said, "I am delighted that we have successfully opened ten locations in 2022 and we have the first seven additional stores due to open in the coming weeks. This means that we are likely and almost certain to deliver on our commitment to open 12 to 15 stores in 2023. Our teams continue to work on other exciting opportunities in the pipeline this year."
The marketing plan has also been running with promotional activities at the beginning of this month, namely Matahari plans to help many of its customers return home during the Lebaran homecoming period through the recently announced Mudik Bersama Matahari program.
