Matahari (the "Company"; stock code: "LPPF") officially opened its 7th and 8th new stores in Eastern Indonesia at Kawanua City Walk Manado (North Sulawesi) and at The Park Kendari (Southeast Sulawesi). Targeting higher productivity in a more comprehensive yet compact store format, Matahari Kawanua City Walk and Matahari The Park Kendari come in a fresh and modern atmosphere with a total store area of 6,300 m2 and 6,200 m2 respectively. Both Matahari stores are environmentally friendly with 100% LED lighting and an enhanced shopping area concept.

Meanwhile, Matahari The Park Kendari is located on the main road of the city and around the entertainment center. Matahari Kawanua City Walk is the fourth outlet in North Sulawesi and the fourth in Manado. Meanwhile, Matahari The Park Kendari is the fourth outlet in Southeast Sulawesi and the third in Kendari. The presence of these two new Matahari outlets brings the total to 146 outlets throughout Indonesia.
Kawanua City Walk and The Park Kendari are one-stop destinations for shopping, lifestyle and entertainment needs in both cities. Manado has a population of over 470,000 while Kendari has a population of over 350,000. Supporting the local economy by employing local people, Matahari Kawanua City Walk has 186 local staff (100%) and Matahari The Park Kendari has 143 local staff (70%).
Matahari also held a CSR program at the same time as the inauguration of its two newest stores. Matahari donated a total of IDR 40,000,000 to Panti Werda Senja Cerah Paniki, Jami Baitush Sholihin Kilu Permai Paniki Mosque, and GMIM Kinamang Kairagi Church from Matahari City Walk Manado as well as the Shabri Kendari Orphanage Foundation, Attarbiyah Mosque, and Thalabul Ilmi Mosque from Matahari The Park Kendari. All of these organizations or places are located near the two new Matahari stores.
Two more new Matahari stores will be opened in East Jakarta and Gresik (East Java) in December, bringing Matahari's total business expansion to 10 new stores during 2022. Furthermore, in 2023 Matahari will open 12-15 new stores and has advanced opportunities for store expansion and job creation. The number of stores that will be traded nationally by the end of 2022 will be 148 and is targeted to be 160 or more by the end of 2023.
