Matahari ("Company"; stock code: "LPPF") officially opened its 6th new store at Citimall Bontang, East Kalimantan. Strategically located in the first largest shopping center in the city of Bontang, with a fresh and modern look in a total shopping area of 4,400 m2. Matahari Citimall Bontang targets higher store productivity in a comprehensive yet compact format. This environmentally friendly Matahari uses 100% LED lighting and is the seventh store in East Kalimantan with a total of 144 stores throughout Indonesia.

Citimal Bontang is a complete shopping and entertainment center located in front of Tanjung Laut Traffic Park and Al-Hijrah Bontang Grand Mosque, adjacent to the village and sub-district offices. This mall is located in the largest sub-district of South Bontang which is inhabited by more than 70,000 residents. Matahari's presence in this mall has the potential to help lift the economy of the surrounding community. The new Matahari Citimal Bontang supports the local economy by employing 130 local employees (94%).
Matahari continues to support a better future for the younger generation through CSR programs. Matahari donated Rp 20,000,000 to the Daarul Aitam Orphanage and Fauzan Fauzi Orphanage, both located near Matahari Citimall Bontang.
Matahari will open four other new stores in Manado (North Sulawesi), Kendari (Southeast Sulawesi), East Jakarta and Gresik (East Java) by the end of this year. Thus, Matahari's total business expansion will be 10 new stores during 2022. Furthermore, Matahari will open 12-15 new stores in 2023 with visibility of opening the first 3-4 stores in early 2023, and has increased opportunities for future store expansion and job creation. The number of stores that will be traded nationally by the end of 2022 will be 148 and is targeted to be 160 or more by the end of 2023.
