PT Matahari Department Store Tbk ("Matahari" or "the Company"; stock code: "LPPF") is expanding its business by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mall @Bassura, East Jakarta today. Through this collaboration, Matahari is further strengthening its presence in East Jakarta and will be its 31st store in Jabodetabek. This store will be located in a strategic area, with connecting access between South Jakarta, East Jakarta, and Bekasi supported by integrated public transportation, as well as access to the Jakarta inner ring road and the new Becakayu toll intersection.
This year, Matahari has opened three new stores in Plaza Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta, Mal Taman Anggrek Jakarta and TangCity Mall Banten. The company will also open other new stores in Gowa in September, Bondowoso in October, Kendari and Bontang in November.
Matahari plans to open 12-15 stores in 2023 and has accelerated plans to open more stores and create jobs. The total number of stores operating nationwide will be 148 by the end of 2022, and will increase to 160 or more by the end of 2023.
