Tightening of Micro-Community Activity Restrictions starting June 22, 2021

On June 21, 2021, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Airlangga Hartarto, announced the tightening of the Implementation of Micro-Scale Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) starting June 22, 2021. Considering the announcement, PT Matahari Department Store Tbk (“Matahari” or the “Company”; stock code: “LPPF”) will fully comply with and support all efforts necessary to maintain the health and safety of its customers and employees.

Matahari has 74 stores across Indonesia (50% of total stores) that are impacted by shorter operating hours, curfews, or other COVID-related restrictions imposed to curb the spread of the pandemic. We will continue to enforce our health protocols and support any efforts to keep our customers and employees safe.

First, the Company's Support Center office activities will switch to full work from home (WFH) starting June 17, 2021 for the next six weeks. Office activities will be resumed considering the latest situation later, as long as the risk is low for our staff and all necessary anticipations are ready. Before the office reopens, employees will undergo self-examination and COVID tests.

Second, the Company’s stores will remain fully open in accordance with the current reduced mall operating hours, and despite other challenges such as reduced capacity of food and beverage retailers, unless there is a closure order. This effort will be carried out with strict safety protocols and maintaining our strong customer service through “SAFE SHOPPING – 5 MATAHARI COMMITMENTS.

The Company will closely monitor the detailed guidelines from the authorities and will implement these guidelines in the Company's stores. Thanks to the hard work of Matahari's Operations and Risk teams, Matahari has an excellent health protocol in place. The Company will comply with any instructions from the authorities in line with its efforts to be a good corporate citizen.

Third, during the PPKM period, the Company will focus on reaching customers through our digital channels. The Company is ready to do this through Matahari.com, Shop & Talk, and presence in selected marketplaces .

The Company will continue to monitor the situation and take appropriate and measurable steps so that the Company can manage the risks related to the impact of the spread of COVID-19.
